Visit To Golden Gate Park

San Francisco
March 23, 2010

We forgot our camera, so these photos were taken with Larry's Palm Pre cell phone.

Our first stop was at the Conservatory of Flowers.

In among all the plants was a model railroad exhibition
with images of San Francisco buildings included.

Here you see the familiar Transamerica Pyramid, the Golden Gate Bridge, the
Japanese Tea Garden and the building we're in, the Conservatory of Flowers.

There was a freight train and a cable car in the exhibit.

The models of the buildings were made with interesting objects, such as the grater
for the Ferry Building Tower along with forks and chopsticks and a salt shaker
as the spire. Spoons can also be seen and the lettering is from a Scrabble game.
The Pacific Stock Exchange Building, behind the Ferry Building, is made of
cassette and video tapes, and the office building is made from a plastic case.

All of the windows on the Transamerica Pyramid are keys from a computer keyboard.
